Aerial

Aerial acrobatics are dynamic and eye catching in any form. This thrilling dance form is best viewed in venues with high ceilings. Movements are graceful, suspenseful, sexy and glamorous.
- Single (1 person), double (two person) or triple (3 person) acts are possible.
Lyra, also known as Aerial Hoop or Cerceaux, is a steel hula hoop suspended in the air. It is similar to trapeze in that it allows the performer to hang, hold graceful poses and showcase their flexibility. Ideal for burlesque or ambient event imagery for details. Ceiling height minimum is 12’.
Trapeze is the most commonly recognized of all the aerial dance apparatus. Static trapeze (double point circus/horizontal bar) or dance trapeze (single point which spins) allows the performer to take advantage of elaborate costumes that cannot be worn for other aerial forms. Poses, drops, hangs and rope play engage the audience. Ceiling height minimum is 14’.
Silks, also known as Tissues or Fabrics, are dramatic and suspenseful. Aerial silks are 20’-30’ in length and made of a low stretch fabric. This combination creates an environment where the performer exhibits intense athleticism and strength. Dramatic drops, poses and wraps are typical with silks and are stunning to view. Aerial silks give true meaning to the definition of “flying in air”. Ceiling height minimum is 16’.
Aerial Sling is a blend of silks and trapeze. Fabric is draped in the form of a loop or swing allowing the performer to climb, drop, hang, swing, pose and wrap. The performer can spread and wrap the fabric encasing the entire body like a cocoon while using backlighting to create shapes and silhouettes. The advantage for this art form is that it can be hung in lower ceilings. Ceiling height minimum is 5’.
Aerial Show Requirements:
- Exposed rafters (or large beams) that can be rigged with load bearing weights of 800-1250 lbs.
